Conference Description
In CLMS/CLHS Annual Conference (North), participants will learn practical strategies for reaching and teaching all under-resourced learners. Gain techniques and examples for how to monitor each student’s performance, cultivate relational learning, assess and create interventions for students and more. This conference will explore how educators can promote student self-efficacy and reduce students’ learned helplessness through a combination of research findings, authentic examples and practical strategies. How do we engage students from all backgrounds and experiences? By emphasizing student strengths rather than weaknesses, teachers can elicit greater achievement gains and higher motivation. You will learn how to give students in the primary grades multiple opportunities to demonstrate mastery through responsive student-centered assignments and assessments.
