UCL IRDR Annual Conference

About

The UCL IRDR Annual Conference 2012 will be held on 21st June at Pearson Lecture Theatre, located in the northwest corner of the main UCL quadrangle. The purpose of organizing this conference is to have discussion on the research in risk and disaster reduction through thought provoking lectures and presentations. The Panel discussion on Risk communication will be chaired by Rosanna Smith, who is the Deputy Director of UCL IRDR. The speakers are- Gordon Woo (RMS), Carina Fearnley (Aberystwyth University), Anita Friend (Cabinet Office) and Helene Joffie (UCL Psychology). The Natural hazards and critical infrastructure session will be chaired by Tiziana Rosetta (UCL Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering) and the speakers are- Katsu Goda ( Bristol University civil engineering), Mark Offord (Sellafield engineer), Farnaz Arefian (UCL DPU) and Virginia Murray (Health protection agency).
