Being the first of its kind the Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute of Pune is aggressively working towards creating a name for the domestic automobile players in the international market. Today the Institute is working towards its objective only due to the efforts put in by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which has kindly supported the project to be located in the industrial areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune. The Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS) of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, is one of the main units responsible for the birth of this institute. The primary motive of this institute is to provide an area for common usage where validation, training, seminar, workshop and market promotional activities especially for the automotive and engineering sector can take place.

The fundamental principle of the Auto Cluster Development and Research Institute of Pune is to provide the best support to facilitate any event happening in the center. Their facilities include a few air conditioned exhibition floors, special area for the press & media, a huge cafeteria and a well-designed auditorium for seminars and meetings. The center also has plenty of space for outdoor exhibitions for heavy and large equipments.
