The College of Agriculture, Pune is one of the first five agriculture Colleges established in India. From its very inception, there has been a close co-ordination between research and teaching. After establishment of Maharashtra Agricultural University in the year 1968 , the College of Agriculture, Pune was transferred to the University as a constituent College. In 1969, the College was transferred to the Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (Agricultural University), Rahuri established in that year. The University headquarters are located in Rahuri, Dist.Ahmednagar 160 km to the north of Pune. Some of the major exhibitions held in the College of Agriculture Ground are: Business India Money Show-Pune, India Sugar & Rice TECH, Zak Agro Machinery Expo-Pune, Pune Expo.

Location: The College of Agriculture is located at the heart of the city, very close to the bus and railway stations and about 10 k.m. from the airport. The city is well connected to other metropolis of the country by road, rail and air.

The College of Agriculture has a sports ground, spread over an area of 3 hectare. The Gymkhana has all the facility for Indian as well modern Indoor and Outdoor games with a gymnasium and badminton hall. The College has a dispensary headed by a resident Medical Doctor Banks. A branch of the Pune District Central Cooperative Bank operates in the Campus. Postal Services are provided by the branch of the Shivaji Nagar Post Office, located within the Campus.

The Aga Khan Palace is considered as one of the most vivaciously crafted monuments, situated in the Yerawada area. The Empress Garden is like a botanical park and therefore it is surrounded with various types of fruit bearing trees. There is Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is known to be one of the finest museum of the city. Some of the popular conservation parks of India is also situated over here like Katraj Snake Park.
